Community Outreach

INTRODUCTION

Beyond its regular scope of social goals, the Hope Foundation and Research Centre is faced with challenges wherein unexpected issues arise; issues that could influence a considerable number of the individuals within a society. These are often the consequence of factors extending beyond one’s control and affecting personal and social order.

At times like these, the Hope Foundation and its educational and research institutions step up to offer their assistance in any way they can to alleviate the suffering. The Trust / Society coalesces and directs its resources and energy towards causes that could have a strong social impact.

Women Empowerment

“If a community, a society and a nation have to become great, they have to respect and empower the women.”

Women’s empowerment isn’t an event of the day that is celebrated. It is a ceaseless effort to encourage our women to feel strong by supporting them to be confident to do everything that they aspire for. As academic and research institutions, we recognize our responsibility in nurturing the minds of future women leaders or professionals; which is why we take the initiative to host women-centric events.

Go-Green Initiatives

The “Go-Green” initiatives at the educational and research campuses of Hope Foundation at Ratnagiri and Pune embrace a way of life that helps preserve the environment by reducing, reusing and recycling. These initiatives offer the opportunities to take the lead in redefining its environmental culture and developing new paradigms by creating sustainable solutions to environmental, social and economic needs of the civilization. Some of the key objectives of these go-green initiatives are to reduce pollution, reduce resources consumption and eliminate wastes, conserve natural resources and forests and maintain the natural ecological balance on earth so that all living things can survive and thrive in their natural habitat.

NSS Activities

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. The motto of NSS is “Not Me But You”.

The main objectives under the National Service Scheme (NSS) are to understand the community in which they work, understand themselves in relation to their community, identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving, develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility, utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems, develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities, gain skills in mobilising community participation, acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes, develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.

Joy of Giving & Sharing

Hope Foundation and its educational and research institutions strongly believe that our lives are richer when we give and share, and that great inner joy comes from helping others to better their lives. True joy, real prosperity, and lasting happiness are possible when all of us come together to take care of each other, respect each other’s rights, and help each other to grow.

Giving takes you out of yourself and allows you to expand beyond earthly limitations. True joy lies in the act of giving without an expectation of receiving something in return. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “To find yourself, lose yourself in the service of others.”

Cleanliness Drive

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaigns launched by the Government of India.

India is in dire need of a cleanliness drive like Swacch Bharat Abhiyan to eradicate dirtiness. It is important for the overall development of citizens in terms of health and well-being. As the majority of the population of India lives in rural areas, it is a big problem. Therefore, this Clean India mission can be of great help in enhancing the living conditions of the people. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to eliminate open defecation, eradicate manual scavenging, introduce modern solid waste management and promote a positive attitude towards healthy sanitation practices.
