Selection for ASME Maharashtra State Professional Section

Prof. Hemant V Chavan, Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been selected as the “Member at Large” in the first Section Leadership Team of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Maharashtra State Professional Section for the year 2022-23.
ASME professional section volunteers the opportunities that allow members to be involved in a meaningful way and increase their visibility in the mechanical engineering field from planning impactful community outreach and events to managing finances. Volunteering at the section level is also a great way to build strong local networks with members and businesses. The Member at Large is responsible for supporting communications, web/social media posts and updates, assisting with ASME-related administrative tasks, member development initiatives, students, student section relations, awards/recognitions, activity planning and programming.

FAMT student Ms Durva Desai from TE CSE won Consolation Prize for the event ‘Collage’ at the 56th Mumbai University Cultural Youth Festival’s Final Round Competitions held at Vidyapeeth Vidyarthi Bhavan, Churchgate, Mumbai on 3rd October 2023. She competed with around 40 students from different colleges at the University of Mumbai and won the prize. She was congratulated by Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Mr. Gajanan Targaonkar (Registrar), Prof. D. D. Joshi (Faculty In-Charge: Student Affairs), and Prof. Darshana Bapat (Coordinator-FAMT Cultural).

FAMT student Ms Madhura Machkar from BE E&TX won Consolation Prize for the event ‘Cartooning’ at the 56th Mumbai University Cultural Youth Festival’s Final Round Competitions held at Vidyapeeth Vidyarthi Bhavan, Churchgate, Mumbai on 31st August 2023.

She competed with around 40 students from different colleges at the University of Mumbai and won the prize.

FAMT Students Won Second Prize at Purushottam Karandak along with Best Student Writer & Best Student Director

FAMT Students Won Second Prize at Purushottam Karandak along with Best Student Writer & Best Student Director The Drama Team of FAMT bagged the Second Prize in the Zonal Round of ‘Purushottam Karandak’– Marathi One Act Play Competition, held at Indira Gandhi Sanskrutik Sabhagruha, Chiplun on 2nd September 2023. Purushottam Karandak is a prestigious competition organized every year by Maharashtriya Kalopasak, Pune. FAMT student Mr Prasad Phadake won the Best Student Writer and the Best Student Director Awards for the same competition. The team has been selected for the final round of the competition to be held in Pune in December 2023. Team FAMT presented a Marathi One Act Play titled ‘Bobadya’. A total of 16 FAMT students worked as front-stage and back-stage artists for the play.

Yuwa Utsav

FAMT students in ‘Yuwa Utsav’

Two FAMT students namely Ms Fabiha Shaikh (FE) and Mr Sahil Terse (TE Mechanical) won the First and the Third prize respectively in Mobile Photography Competition at Yuwa Utsav 2023. The competition was district-level and intercollegiate, organized by Nehru Yuwa Kendra, Ratnagiri. The said competition was organized at Mane’s International School on Sunday, 26th March 2023.

The theme given for the competition was ‘Nature’. The participants were expected to submit three photographs taken at the given venue and theme.
