Under the themes “My River My Valentine” and “My River My Responsibility,” river cleanliness and conservation drives were organized on 14 February 2026 at Bhide Bridge and Morya Gosavi Ghat. The initiatives were conducted by Mamasaheb Mohol College in collaboration with the Environmental Conservation Activity (ECA), the NSS Unit of the International Institute of Information Technology, and the Board of Student Development.
NSS volunteers actively participated in the activities with great enthusiasm and dedication. The drives aimed to promote awareness about river conservation, environmental protection, and the importance of maintaining clean and healthy water resources. Volunteers cleaned the riverbank and ghat areas by collecting plastic waste and other non-biodegradable materials from the surroundings.
During the activities, participants also spread awareness among citizens about preventing river pollution and protecting aquatic ecosystems. The initiatives highlighted the importance of youth participation and community involvement in environmental sustainability and conservation efforts.
Through these drives, volunteers developed teamwork, social responsibility, and environmental consciousness while contributing towards the message of clean and sustainable water bodies. Overall, the activities successfully created awareness about river cleanliness and inspired participants to work towards a greener and healthier environment.
