Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), Ratnagiri, organized an awareness seminar on “Anti-Ragging and Drug Addiction” on 28th March 2026 for all Engineering students. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging and drug addiction and to encourage responsible and disciplined behaviour on campus.
The session was conducted by esteemed resource persons Mr. Laxman Goving Kokare (Police Head Constable), Mrs. Jagruti Kamble (Police Head), and Mr. Sunil Sawant (PSI). The programme commenced with the welcome and felicitation of the guests by presenting bouquets as a token of respect.
During the seminar, Mrs. Jagruti Kamble and Mr. Sunil Sawant delivered insightful sessions highlighting the serious consequences of drug addiction and ragging. They explained the long-term impact of such activities on students’ health, career, and personal life, along with the legal actions and punishments associated with them. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and clarifying their doubts. The speakers motivated students to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle and contribute towards maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive campus environment.
A total of 200 students participated in the seminar. Head of the Department, Dr. Nangre, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of conducting such awareness programmes for students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the FESA Coordinator, Prof. A. Nandhini. The event was successfully organized with the support and assistance of Prof. Darshana Bapat, Prof. Arati Mulye, and Prof. Ajinkya Prabhudesai.
Overall, the seminar proved to be informative and impactful, providing students with valuable insights into discipline, awareness, and healthy living.
