Finolex Academy of Management and Technology successfully organized an awareness seminar titled “Know Your Rights: Ensuring Safety and Dignity” on 28th March 2026 at the IT Seminar Hall.
The session was delivered by Advocate Sandhya Sukhatankar, an experienced legal expert with over 25 years of professional experience. She provided valuable insights into the concept, types, legal implications, and preventive measures related to sexual harassment under the POSH Act.
The programme was formally introduced by Dr. Geetanjali Nilesh Sawant, Presiding Officer of the Internal Committee, who emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment. She also informed participants about their rights, complaint mechanisms, and the role of the Internal Committee (ICC) in ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and justice.
The seminar aimed to create awareness among girl students and female faculty members regarding sexual harassment laws and the available support systems under the POSH Act. A total of 104 students and 03 faculty members actively participated in the session.
The programme proved to be highly informative and interactive, helping participants recognize inappropriate behavior, encouraging confidence to report incidents, and promoting awareness about safety, dignity, and legal rights.
Notably, Advocate Sandhya Sukhatankar graciously declined the honorarium, emphasising her commitment to social welfare and awareness.
