The Department of Computer Engineering at I²IT organized a socially impactful event titled “Tree Nurturing and Cleanliness Drive: Save, Sustain, Support” on 29th August 2025, under the banner of CESA, in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch, Institute Innovation Council (IIC), and Pimpalvan Nisarg Sanvardhan Group. The event was conducted in offline mode at the Defence Area, Pimple Nilakh, Pune.
The primary objective of the initiative was to inculcate a strong sense of environmental responsibility among students by encouraging the nurturing of existing tree plantations and active participation in cleanliness drives. Students from SE, TE, and BE actively participated with great enthusiasm and commitment.
The program commenced with a brief orientation session outlining the importance of tree nurturing, sustainability, and community cleanliness. Participants were then divided into groups and assigned to various locations, where they engaged in cleaning activities and cared for saplings planted during previous drives. All necessary tools and equipment for the activities were provided.
The initiative successfully raised awareness among students regarding sustainable green practices, cleanliness, and civic responsibility. Volunteers from Pimpalvan Nisarg Sanvardhan Group worked closely with the students and shared valuable insights on maintaining sustainable urban green spaces. Overall, the event reinforced the collective commitment of the department and student organizations toward fostering an environmentally conscious and socially responsible student community.
