On 20th February 2025, AISSMS College of Engineering organized a one-day Cleanliness Drive at the historic Rajgad Fort, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, focusing on environmental sustainability and heritage preservation. Representing the NSS Unit of I²IT, volunteers Ved Khiarnar and Gaurav Ghanavat actively participated in the initiative alongside other committed students.
Key areas of historical significance—including Padmavati Mata Mandir, Suvela Machi, Balekilla, and Sanjivani Machi—were cleaned by the volunteers with great dedication and teamwork. The physically demanding activity highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness at heritage sites while fostering a strong sense of civic responsibility.
As a symbol of their commitment, all volunteers took a pledge to protect and preserve forts for future generations. A memorable moment of the day was an interactive session with Nana Shekajawal Sir, NSS District Coordinator & Nodal Officer, SPPU, who inspired the youth with his insights on leadership, social service, and the vital role of young citizens in nation-building.
The Rajgad Fort Cleanliness Drive was a resounding success, instilling pride and purpose among participants, and reinforcing the importance of conserving India’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
