National Service Scheme Camp

The NSS unit of Hope Foundation’s International Institute of Information Technology, Hinjawadi, Pune, successfully organized a week-long National Service Scheme (NSS) camp from 17th to 23rd January 2025 at Khamboli village, Mulshi Taluka, Pune. Conducted under the esteemed leadership of Principal Dr. Vaishali Patil and the dedicated guidance of Dr. Sandeep Varpe, NSS Program Officer, the camp aimed to instill a spirit of social responsibility among volunteers while actively contributing to rural development.

Throughout the week, a range of impactful activities were conducted, focusing on social awareness, environmental conservation, health, education, and community engagement. Key highlights included:

  • Bhajan Sandhya: A soulful evening of devotional music.

  • Water Conservation Project: Construction of a dam to support water storage.

  • Cleanliness Drives: Daily evening drives and plastic collection efforts across the village.

  • Health Initiatives: Free health and eye checkup camps, and a voluntary blood donation drive.

  • Youth & Education Support: Career guidance sessions, laptop donation to the primary school, and sports activities for schoolchildren.

  • Women Empowerment: Hygiene awareness sessions and self-defense training for schoolgirls.

  • Cultural Preservation: Organization of Jal Dindi and Granth Dindi to celebrate local heritage.

  • Civic Assistance: Support for ABHA card creation and voter/Aadhaar updates.

  • Environmental Restoration: KT river maintenance and a trekking-meditation session at Karanjai Devi Mandir.

  • Street Play: Addressing key social issues through impactful performances.

  • Expert Interactions: Sessions by NSS SPPU District Coordinator Nana Shejawal and Ankit Goyal Sir on defense career opportunities.

The camp served as a transformative experience for NSS volunteers while creating a meaningful and lasting impact on the Khamboli community.

The Department of Information Technology is pleased to announce that our faculty Dr. Yogesh Manohar Gajmal received the Best Paper Award in Springer Conference – International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Network Systems (CINS 2023) held from 18 to 20 October at Dubai, UAE.
