Getting Started with Front-End Development

I²IT has organized an add-on course on Front-End Development. This course is designed to equip students with essential skills in HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, enabling them to create visually appealing and user-friendly web interfaces. Through hands-on sessions and practical assignments, students will gain a solid foundation in front-end technologies, preparing them for real-world web development challenges.

On Day 1, students learnt the basics of HTML, including various essential tags. This session provided a strong understanding of the fundamental structure of HTML and how to use these tags to format and structure web content effectively.

On Day 2, the concepts of CSS were covered. Students learnt various attributes such as setting background images, background colours, and other styling properties. This session helps to understand how to enhance the appearance of web pages and create visually appealing designs using CSS.

On Day 3, students explored Bootstrap, covering its basics, links, and files. They also learnt how to integrate Google Fonts into our projects. This session provided with valuable tools to streamline the development of responsive and modern web pages using Bootstrap’s components and styling capabilities.

On Day 4, students created our portfolio websites and learned about Git and GitHub. This hands-on session allowed to apply our HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap knowledge while also understanding version control and how to manage projects using Git and GitHub.

In conclusion, the add-on course on Front-End Development at i2IT College has been an enriching experience. Over four days, students comprehensively understand HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and version control with Git and GitHub. By creating portfolio websites, students not only applied learning but also prepared students for future web development projects. This course has equipped with valuable skills to excel in the field of front-end development.
