Finolex Academy of Management and Technology successfully organized a One-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Android App Development” on 16th February 2026 for TE and BE students of the CSE (AI & ML) and Information Technology departments.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Farhan Bodale, from the Department of Computer Engineering, Rajendra Mane Polytechnic, who has extensive experience in Android application development in industry and freelancing domains. The session aimed to provide students with practical exposure to Android development using Android Studio and to enhance their technical skills aligned with current industry requirements.
The workshop covered Android architecture, Android Studio environment, project structure, and designing user interfaces with layouts like Linear, Constraint, Frame, and Grid Layouts. Participants engaged in hands-on development of utility applications such as login forms, converters, timers, and picker-based apps. Core Android components including Activities, Fragments, Intents, Services, Broadcast Receivers, database integration, and device features like Camera, SMS, Email, GPS, and Navigation Drawer were also explored.
Students actively participated in coding exercises, clarified doubts, and successfully developed functional Android applications during the workshop. The event was coordinated by Mr. Akshay Shetye and Mr. Ashish Vartak, under the guidance of Dr. Yogesh Gajmal and Dr. Vinayak Bharadi. The workshop concluded with a feedback session and vote of thanks and proved highly informative, significantly enhancing students’ practical knowledge and confidence in Android app development.
