I²IT organized an add-on module titled “Mental Health First Aid: Supporting Well-being and Building Resilience”, conducted by Dr. Bhakti Ghate, Counseling Psychologist, NLP Certified Practitioner, CBT Practitioner (Beck Institute), and BYST Mentor.
The session aimed to promote human values, self-awareness, wellness education, and social responsibility by equipping students with essential knowledge and practical skills related to mental health first aid. Dr. Ghate guided participants in recognizing early signs of mental health concerns, responding with sensitivity, and referring individuals to professional support when required.
The lecture highlighted the importance of empathy, supportive communication, and creating a safe and inclusive environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their challenges. Through interactive discussions and real-life scenarios, students were empowered with practical strategies to proactively manage their own well-being while offering effective support to peers, thereby strengthening community resilience.
The program concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which students openly discussed real-life concerns and gained valuable insights. Overall, the session not only enhanced participants’ awareness and understanding of mental health but also fostered a campus culture of empathy, mutual support, and mental wellness.
The activity successfully met its objectives by providing students with tools to build resilience and contribute to a mentally healthy and supportive community.
