An industrial visit was successfully organized for Third-Year (TE) EXTC students to the Instrumentation Department of Finolex Industries Ltd. (FIL), Ratnagiri, on Saturday, 12th April 2025.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to modern industrial instrumentation and process control systems. The students were accompanied by Dr. V. M. Galshetwar (Faculty Coordinator) and Prof. Raju K. Marag (Deputy Training and Placement Officer, Chemical Engineering Department).
During the visit, students explored key areas of industrial automation, including:
- Real-time process monitoring systems
- Sensor and actuator integration
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) applications
- Safety protocols in industrial environments
Engineers and staff at FIL provided a comprehensive walkthrough of the plant’s instrumentation setups, control rooms, and data acquisition systems. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students clarified technical queries and discussed career prospects in instrumentation and automation.
This visit served as a valuable learning experience, effectively bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world industrial practices.
