Need of Sparrows & Environmental Awareness

FAMT celebrated the World Sparrow Day by conducting the Seminar on the Need of Sparrows, Sparrows and Environmental Awareness and Drawing Competitions for students of different standards in various schools across Ratnagiri.

World Sparrow Day is observed on 20 March to raise awareness of the house sparrow and other common birds to urban environments, and of threats to their populations. It is an international initiative by the Nature Forever Society of India in collaboration with the Eco-Sys Action Foundation (France) and numerous other national and international organizations across the world.

The students of FAMT execute the program in groups who visited different schools to present the seminars on sparrows and environment awareness. They also conducted drawing competitions based on the topic ‘Birds’. Approximately 300+ students of various schools in Ratnagiri region attended the “World Sparrow Day” Celebration and approximately 200+ students participated in the drawing competition. Two schools from Ratnagiri region encouraged and supported the event. The students were quite excited and interested to participate in this event.
