On February 23, 2024, the NSS Unit of FAMT and Narendra Maharaj Sansthan, Nanij jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp with the dual aim of collecting voluntary blood donations to mitigate the local healthcare facilities’ blood supply shortage and raising awareness about the importance of regular blood donation among community members.
To ensure the event’s success, an organizing committee was formed with members from both the NSS Unit of FAMT and Narendra Maharaj Sansthan. They developed promotional materials, including posters, flyers, and social media posts, which were widely distributed to raise awareness about the event. Volunteers were recruited and trained to assist with various tasks such as registration, donor screening, and other logistical responsibilities. Additionally, medical professionals were engaged to conduct donor screenings and oversee the entire blood donation process.
The event not only highlighted the critical need for voluntary blood donation but also effectively reached a broad audience within the community, raising significant awareness about the cause. The feedback from donors, volunteers, and faculty members was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting satisfaction with the event’s organization and execution. In total, the camp saw 62 donors contributing to the blood donation efforts.
The successful collaboration and meticulous planning by the organizing committee, combined with the enthusiastic participation of the community, ensured that the Blood Donation Camp not only met its objectives but also reinforced the importance of regular blood donation, contributing to a stronger, more responsive local healthcare system.
