Microsoft Virtual Academy Certification Workshop on Cyber Security

Information Technology Department organized a Three Days Technical Workshop on Cyber Security & Internet of Things in association with ATS Learning solutions which is a Microsoft Authorized Education partner for SE, TE, BE students. The workshop was conducted in two batches from 08 September to 10 September 2017 for batch 01(46 students) and from 17 September to 19 September 2017 for batch 02(48 Students) in the computer networks lab.

The workshop was initiated by Dr. Vinayak Bharadi, Head of Information Technology department.  He welcomed and introduced the expert trainer, Mr. Vinod Gupta,  an IT professional specializing in Information Security and Cyber Crime Consultancy, supported by Mumbai Police Research & Development. He shared his experience and the real challenges of cyber security in the field of hacking and demonstrated live defacement of several websites. He practically highlighted the vulnerabilities present in several websites and made aware the attendees regarding how to secure the data from such attacks.The workshop explored the various means that an intruder has to gain access to computer resources. It investigated the weaknesses by discussing the theoretical background while actually performing the attack.
